I installed the Guest Additions for Virtualbox version 5.1.6, but you should choose the one that matches your Virtualbox version. These are needed for example for the shared folders to work on Vagrant. Then install Virtualbox Guest Additions on the machine. Then install the needed dependencies # Needed for Vagrant sudo yum install -y openssh wget # Needed for Virtualbox Guest Additions sudo yum groupinstall 'Development Tools' sudo yum install -y kernel-devel When the machine has rebooted, register it with you Red Hat user account as shown below: sudo subscription-manager register -username -password -auto-attach sudo yum update After the installation the machine will be rebooted. All of these (username, password & admin password) should be set to vagrant. During the installation you will have to possibility to create a user account and set an admin password. Then start the VM from the downloaded RHEL iso and install it to the VM. For the hard disk file type choose VMDK and for the size 40gb dynamically allocated.
